Ivy Tech Open House at Mid-America Science Park
The Open House is for students and their families to visit and learn about the dual-credit courses and see the training equipment that will be used for instruction.

Warriorette Tennis Team Undefeated MSC Champs
Last night the SHS Warriorette tennis team defeated Salem 5-0 to complete an undefeated MSC season, thus snatching the title of MSC Girls Tennis Champs. Congratulations go out to the girls tennis team and Coach Roberts.  Warrior Nation is very proud of you. 
SHS Football Coach Hired
SCSD2 Board hires Kyle Mullins from Indianapolis Ben Davis as the SHS Football Coach. Mark your calendars- August 22, 2014 is the SHS JV Home opener! SHS Football Golf Scramble
SHS is hosting a golf scramble at Westwood Golf Course on Sunday, May 25 to help raise money for SHS football.  This will be a 4-man scramble with a shotgun start at 1 PM.  Entry fee is $160.00 per team with lunch provided at the clubhouse while you play.  Each member on the first place team will receive a free 2014-15 All-Sports Pass.  Please click on SHS Football Golf Scramble to download your team registration form.  Forms and money can be turned in the day of the event at the golf course or to the SHS Athletic Dept. during the school day before the day of the event. 
The new generation of potential Scottsburg High School football players needs to begin conditioning NOW to be bigger, stronger, faster for the 2014 football season.  It's not too late to sign up, and it is never too early to begin conditioning to play football for this fall.  Conditioning is every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 3:15-5:00 PM.  Athletes meet in the SHS weight room.  Prepare for the football battle this fall, and dedicate yourself to being bigger, stronger, faster. Bring it on! 
Alumni Focus for May
This month's Alumni Focus is Kim Uhl, SHS Class of 1979.   

Pictured left to right are Seniors Kelsey Smith and Ashley Elliott. Smith and Elliott were selected as 2013-14 Indiana Basketball Coaches Association/Subway Senior All-State Honorable Mention.  Elliott was also selected to receive the honor of  2014 Girls Academic All-State First Team by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.  Congratulations girls!
SHS Prosser Honorees Named
Congratulations to our seniors Shelby Copeland and Zach Higdon, as each was chosen as the 2014 Rotary Outstanding Senior in their program. This nomination means a special luncheon banquet with the Rotary Club and a nomination for the $500.00 Rotary Scholarship to be awarded on Prosser’s Senior Night.

The electricity program had 14 seniors this year, and culinary arts had 32, so we are very proud of the selection our students for this top honor. Shelby Copeland – Culinary Arts and Zachary Higdon – Electricity!

We also had another SHS senior added to the Prosser Wall of Fame. Congratulations to Chris Bannister for showing excellence in the Automotive Technology Program.
Lauren Howser Named To ICC Academic All-State Cheer Team
Congratulations to Lauren Howser on being selected to the 12-member Indiana Cheer Championship (ICC) 2014 Academic All-State Cheer Team. Howser will receive a $250.00 scholarship for this prestigious honor from the ICC, which is a part of the Indiana Association of School Principals, Department of Student Programs. 
Academic Teams Advance
Congratulations go out to both the SHS Social Studies and Science Academic teams for advancing to the state finals.
Ashley Elliott Named To IBCA Academic All-State Team

Senior Ashley Elliott was recently selected to receive the honor of 2014 Girls Academic All-State First Team by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA). She is 1 of 36 other girls from various other high schools in Indiana to receive this award.

Kelsey Smith and Ashley Elliott Receive Honorable Mention

Seniors Kelsey Smith and Ashley Elliott have been selected as 2013-14 IBCA/Subway Senior All-State Honorable Mention in a process organized by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association and presented by Subway Restaurants of Indiana. Both girls will receive recognition certificates.

The IBCA All-State Teams are selected in a process where all IBCA-member head coaches have the opportunity to nominate top players from schools in the traditional regional structure of the non-class tournament format. Representatives from each of those 16 regional areas, plus six at-large representatives (two each from IHSAA Districts 1, 2 and 3), then meet to review those nominations, vote and finalize the selections.

SHS Concert Percussion Ensemble Ranked 9th In USA!
The Scottsburg High School Concert Percussion Ensemble recently competed at the WGI (Winter  Guard International) World Percussion Championships in Dayton, OH on April 10th and 11th. The group came away ranked 9th in the nation. 
SHS JV Football Beginning And SMS Football Continuing.
The Scott County School District 2 Board of Education voted this month to begin junior varsity football and to continue football at the middle school."  This opportunity is available to SHS and SMS students. Over sixty students have already begun conditioning and preparing for the fall season.

An historical milestone occurred during half-time of the boys varsity basketball game vs. Austin on Wednesday, Nov. 27.
