Scottsburg High School
  
For the fifth, consecutive year, the SHS academic team won a state title at the Indiana Academic Super Bowl. This year, the interdisciplinary team was named state champions; the team covered questions from all subject areas — math, science, social studies, English, and fine arts. The social studies team was the state runner-up, and the science team placed third — the highest ranking of any science team in southern Indiana. The academic teams have won state championships in English, science, and social studies, who have two, back-to-back championships. The Indiana Academic Super Bowl competition was held on May 7 at Purdue University.

Not only does Christine VonDissen help everyday items go through a process of renewal through her recycling program at Scottsburg Middle School, she also helps people go through a process of a renewal, caring for each one along the way.

For two days, Scottsburg High School senior Jordan Shuler had to keep a big secret: he was named the Scott County Community Foundation 2016 Lilly Endowment Community Scholar.
