Kindergarten Registration

On-site screenings of NEW KINDERGARTEN & Pre K students
at Meyer Gymnasium
Tuesday, July 21: 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Thursday, July 23: 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. 

No appointment is necessary - parents may bring their child on either date and within the times shown. This screening process is for ALL new kindergartners, including those who plan to attend school at a building or those who plan to choose the online option.

IMPORTANT - What to Bring:

1. Child's birth certificate

2. Child's immunization records

3. Your CHILD

ON-SITE HEALTH PRECAUTIONS (As approved by the Health Dept):

- Each adult and child is strongly encouraged to bring their own face covering

--- Disposable face coverings will be available for those who do not have one

- Families are encouraged to limit the number of adults attending with each child to one adult per child

- School staff will use face coverings and other health precautions

- Hand sanitation stations will be available in several locations throughout the building

- The site will promote social distancing for the benefit of all in attendance

When arriving to Meyer Gymnasium, parking is available in the gravel lot off of McClain Ave (north side of building).

Use the sidewalk on the west side of the building and enter the building through the west doors. 

In addition to Kindergarten Screening, PreK registration/screening will also be taking place - feel free to bring your PreK child on the same day/time as your new kindergartner!

Scott County School District 2 offers preschool and all-day kindergarten.  
Kindergarten is available for all children who turn 5 years old by October 1.  

Q: If I live outside the boundary of Scott 2, can my child be enrolled in Scott 2?  
A: Yes. All students who live in our district or choose to attend Scott 2 from outside the district may enroll.

Kindergarten classes are offered at the following elementary schools:  Johnson Elementary, Lexington Elementary, Scottsburg Elementary, and Vienna-Finley Elementary.
PreK classes are offered at Johnson Elementary, Lexington Elementary & Scottsburg Elementary.
